Happy Pigs

With pork being the most popular meat globally, the UK being a net importer & the labelling being a mess - a problem not just limited to pork - it’s too easy to end up with a plateful of foreign pig that’s had a short & miserable life.

This is why we support James & Charlotte Hull, owners of The Story Pig in Sherborne, Dorset who farm some of the happiest pigs we’ve ever met. You’ll find their pork in our At Home meals, and the sausages or bacon on the shelves - but be quick it’s popular.

They keep only Tamworths, the oldest pure breed of native pig in the British Isles & closely linked to the original wild woodland pigs. Robust, hardy & slow growing they thrive outdoors & live long time just as pigs should - rooting, rummaging & generally having a muddy time. Because of all this they taste unique; firm meat with marbling running throughout plus a generous outer layer of tasty fat.

If you are ever near Sherborne drop in & visit their cafe, meet their pigs to see for yourselves, but if you’re on Tisbury High Street searching for delicious banger for breakfast or barbecue pop into Provenance. They are perfect with our Onion and Fennel Marmalade.
